Sculpting Away the Fat One Day at a Time

by tellio on June 1, 2008

I am working with Mehdi of Stronglifts to help with learning how to lift properly, eat sensibly, and learn continuously.  All of this is essential to future tri work.  At least I think it is.  After one day of stretching and lifting I can already tell the difference in my running.  It is a little more “open” in the hips.  But, ladies and gentlemen, I am sore.  I am sore from the body work, I am sore from the almost negligible weights I am lifting, and I am sore from the “soft tissue” work that marks Mehdi’s approach.  The Japanese technique of ‘kaizen’ says that little steps lead the way.  This is twenty league leap in a lot of ways, but in other ways it is all very  I am committed for a month and I will engage in this experiment for a month.

I have completed my full tilt physical and will get my last test results, the treadmill stress test, on Wednesday. I have the sense that the summer will be a whirlwind.  Sigh.

I will do a weigh-in and body fat exam  every Friday.

I am tri training three days a week and lifting three.  I will probably have to ramp up to four a weeks on the tri.  I can’t judge yet based upon lifting schedule.

I am committed to eating more protein and any kind of food that will enable my goals.  Except slime eels, I can’t do slime eels.
