Be lucky – it’s an easy skill to learn – Telegraph
-
- Unlucky people often fail to follow their intuition when making a choice, whereas lucky people tend to respect hunches. Lucky people are interested in how they both think and feel about the various options, rather than simply looking at the rational side of the situation. I think this helps them because gut feelings act as an alarm bell – a reason to consider a decision carefully.
- Unlucky people tend to be creatures of routine. They tend to take the same route to and from work and talk to the same types of people at parties. In contrast, many lucky people try to introduce variety into their lives. For example, one person described how he thought of a colour before arriving at a party and then introduced himself to people wearing that colour. This kind of behaviour boosts the likelihood of chance opportunities by introducing variety.
- Lucky people tend to see the positive side of their ill fortune. They imagine how things could have been worse. In one interview, a lucky volunteer arrived with his leg in a plaster cast and described how he had fallen down a flight of stairs. I asked him whether he still felt lucky and he cheerfully explained that he felt luckier than before. As he pointed out, he could have broken his neck.
n the wake of these studies, I think there are three easy techniques that can help to maximise good fortune:

Health Care Reform … for the N.F.L.

the primary goal is to return them to the field as quickly as possible.

Teams should be required to report every injury

-
Grievance procedures should be reformed
-
Payments to injured players should be excluded from payrolls
-
These measures might not reduce injuries in an inherently brutal sport, but they would help to protect the men who suffer the consequences.

Blog Reflection: 9 Reflection Questions
-
As for applying what i have learned in this unit outside the classroom, I can not think of anything.
-
My lowest points of writing this paper was trying to find the information for the topic I have, books and online mostly talked more about characteristics, different types of whales, and where they travel too.
-
It was hard getting certain topics about eating habits.
-
I do better when I am focused mainly on just one thing, because if i don’t then i loose track on what I’m suppose to be doing. I found i love to listen to music when writing papers, I have no idea why but it helped a lot.
-
-
-
I also learned about the different templates we could use in our papers as well.
-
This relates to what I already know because I know you have to listen in class to know what you have to write about and you have to look at your book so you know if your doing it right and i know to use the internet in looking for information. And it does take a lot of work to write a good paper. You have to brainstrom and firgure out what information you want to use in your paper and that takes time to do that.
-
i will be writing a lot more
-
take my time and really focus
-
I feel like I have grow
-
I had to overcome while writing this paper was not going out to eat with my friends because I had to get my paper done and putting aside time for everything else.
-
I have learned that I need to do my paper first and then worry about everything else. I have learned that it doesn’t take me along time to write a page as along as I stick with it. The hardest thing for me is starting the paper. I have always had trouble with that. But after i start it and get it going everything just starts to fall together. The best place for me to write my paper was at mass media. Because it’s really quite and everyone is really nice. I just like doing my papers and all my other work in mass media. It’s hard writing a paper when you have all kind of other things going on like, having all kinds of other homework to do like math and reading and public speacking, hanging out with your boyfriend, making time for friends and also making time to eat and sleep. It takes a lot to write a page and saying focused on it. But once your focused everything should work out and you should get your paper done. Which that’s what I did, I stayed foused and got it done!

the 9 questions due in class | Diigo Groups
-
you can be completely
informational and topical, (just like most college papers will be) and
put a personal, creative touch on it. -
t can help me put a more creative and entertaining spin on
some things, and everyone knows it’s easier to read if it’s fun, or
tells a story. Plus, it helps me with ways on how to add evidence and
quotes, stats and interviews to the paper, -
I’m not too sure on how to change the way I quote people via
talking. -
I would say that the low point for me was
pretty much accepting that my pre-season pick really doesn’t stand a
chance in winning the trophy this year -
internal
battles that I encountered -
took notes after every episode of
SportsCenter and I constantly documented stats from the internet. -
Well first off and most importantly is… I can write a paper, that
isn’t considered “creative writing” and still enjoy it A LOT. I guess
it just has to do with the topic of the paper, and the time span given
to complete the given task. I didn’t really feel rushed or anything to
get this paper finished, I didn’t find myself barely finding information
to go on it at the last minute, and I didn’t find myself pulling my hair
out over the frustration that this paper was bringing me. I really did
enjoy doing this writing assignment AND writing in this style.
